The body of a woman was found Saturday in the south Encanto area of San Diego, prompting a homicide investigation.
The discovery was made at 2:33 p.m. in the 500 block of South 66th Street, San Diego police Lt. Todd Griffin said.
“Officers at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park who were working a San Diego Police Department recruiting event were contacted by a concerned citizen,” Griffin said. “That citizen reported seeing an unconscious unresponsive female.”
Officers responded to the location and found the deceased female, he said.
The age and cause of death were not available, Griffin said.
Homicide detectives were investigating, he said.
