A man who used a red Corvette to make his getaway after two robberies and an attempted robbery in San Diego was sentenced to 26 years in prison.

Bryan Evangelisti, 29, pleaded guilty in July to burglary, robbery and other charges in connection with the holdups, which occurred Dec. 3, 2016, and the following day.

Deputy District Attorney James Koerber said Evangelisti robbed an employee at a Chevron gas station in Carmel Mountain Ranch on Dec. 3 then committed similar crimes at another Chevron station and a 7-Eleven store the next day.

San Diego Police dubbed Evangelisti the “Red Corvette Bandit” because of the car he drove during the robberies.

Evangelisti was sentenced late Thursday in San Diego Superior Court.
