The assault occurred on a roadside embankment in the 1600 block Logan Avenue in Barrio Logan shortly before 8:30 a.m., according to San Diego police.

The 29-year-old victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries to his back, torso and one of his hands. He described the assailant as a roughly 5- foot-10-inch white man in his 20s, wearing blue jeans and a red shirt, Officer Dino Delimitros said.

It was unclear what prompted the dispute between the two men.
