Caitlin Sullivan was reported missing after her boyfriend last saw her about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday while the couple sat on surfboards and watched the fireworks at the Ocean Beach Pier, San Diego Police officer John Buttle said.
“She was at the beach with her cousin and boyfriend,” Buttle said. “Sullivan and her boyfriend went into the water on surfboards to watch the fireworks … When the fireworks were over they started back to shore. Her boyfriend gave Sullivan a push to help her toward the shore. When the boyfriend got to shore, Sullivan wasn’t there. And that was the last time she was seen.”
Police announced Sullivan was missing about 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, but at 4 a.m. Buttle said she “has been located safe and sound.”
