Violence that broke out Thursday in Escondido erupted into gunfire, and a bus driver who was not involved in the melee was struck by a stray bullet, according to reports.
Fighting between three people near the Escondido Transit Center escalated when one person involved pulled out a shotgun and fired, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune.
A bus driver who was parked nearby was hit after a bullet pierced through his bus, according to the report.
Two people, including the gunman, were arrested, and the bus driver was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition, the report continued.
Kimbery Wall, spokeswoman for the public transportation agency, told the U-T that bus and train service at the station on West Valley Parkway at North Quince Street was not disrupted.
