San Diego Sheriff‘s deputies will be collecting unwanted and expired prescription drugs at stations throughout the county on Saturday.
The annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The service is free and anonymous, and most types drugs will be disposed. However, no sharps or needles will be accepted.
The sheriff’s department also has drop boxes for disposal during normal business hours.
Unwanted or expired prescription drugs can be dangerous if they are taken inappropriately.
