A man was attacked outside his home Monday morning by a suspect wielding a “hand-held cultivating device,” according to a San Diego Police Department report.
The incident was reported to police around 6 a.m. in the 400 block of 63rd Street.
The 4o-year-old victim suffered non-life threatening wounds after the suspect — who was under the influence of a controlled substance — started swinging the tool at the man “without warning,” police reported.
The suspect took off running but was taken into custody nearby at the 62nd Street trolley platform; officers struggled with the 37-year-old man briefly while placing him under arrest, according to the police report.
The incident remains under investigation.
