Police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding the armed suspect who robbed Division Market in Valencia Park on New Year’s Day.

The robbery took place just before 7:30 p.m. when the suspect — a black male or Hispanic male — walked into the store at 5402 Division Street wearing a grey sweatshirt with red sleeves, a red hat and a black bandana covering his face.

The suspect held two store employees at gunpoint and demanded cash, according to a report from the San Diego Police Department.

“The male took unknown amount of cash and fled the store on foot northbound,” the report read.

Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to call Officer Buttle at (619) 531-2000 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
