A jaywalking pedestrian, hit by a car and killed in Lincoln Park on Christmas Eve, was identified Monday as a man convicted of pushing a girl into a La Mesa street eight years ago.
Wayne Anthony Bushore, 42, of Chula Vista, died of blunt force torso trauma after being hit by a Nissan Xterra while running across the 4900 block of Logan Avenue about 1:20 p.m. Dec. 24, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
He died at the scene despite efforts by paramedics to revive him.
In 2008, Bushore was convicted in a case that included charges of shoving a 16-year-old girl into oncoming traffic.
“Witnesses testified during a two-day trial that Bushore was acting strangely in the Denny’s on Spring Street [in La Mesa] shortly before noon April 14,” said The San Diego Union-Tribune.
“The restaurant manager testified that when she asked him to leave, Bushore threatened to shoot her and tossed magazines at her as he left, breaking a display shelf. After leaving the restaurant, Bushore crossed Spring Street and confronted Maria Peralta and her two teenage daughters walking toward him. Bushore grabbed Peralta’s 16-year-old daughter and pushed her into the street, holding her in a lane of oncoming cars, Peralta testified.”
The girl apparently was unhurt in the incident.
