Firefighters were making quick work of a small vegetation fire in Valley Center, according to Cal Fire.
The fire broke out in the 11000 block of Calle Oro Verde at about 11:25 a.m. and grew to about a half-acre. Firefighters were able to stop the forward rate of spread of the so-called Couser Fire within about 20 minutes, Cal Fire said.
There was no word on threats to any structures in the area and no report of injuries. Firefighters said they planned to remain on scene until about 3 p.m. Saturday to make sure there aren’t any flare-ups.
