Robert Louis Becker, 21, faces charges of attempted lewd and lascivious acts on a minor, annoying or molesting a child with a prior conviction and disorderly lewd conduct, authorities said.

More charges may be pending.

Lt. Dan Brislin of the Sheriff’s Family Protection Detail said deputies from the Lakeside Sheriff’s Substation were called Aug. 17 to the Walmart on Camino Canada in unincorporated El Cajon.

“A 10-year-old girl told deputies a man followed her inside the women’s restroom,” Brislin said. “She says the man got into a stall next to her and used a cell phone camera to record her while making lewd comments. The suspect took off before deputies arrived.”

On Monday, Becker was arrested at his home in the 4000 block of Alpine Boulevard in Alpine, Brislin said. Becker was identified through the store’s surveillance video.

Becker is being held without bail at San Diego Central Jail, according to court records. No arraignment was yet scheduled.

“The investigation is ongoing, and Becker is suspected of committing similar crimes in the East County and potential victims are being urged to come forward,” he said, asking potential victims to call (858) 974-2417.
