Two San Diego men were facing prostitution-related charges Tuesday for allegedly running a commercial sex enterprise via a fee- based, members-only website.
Following a year-long investigation by the multi-agency San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force, Christian Koalani, 66, and 68-year-old Dale Vinzant were arrested earlier this month on suspicion of pimping, pandering, conspiracy, solicitation of prostitution and money laundering, according to San Diego police.
The two men allegedly lured vulnerable young women into taking part in the scheme with offers of drugs and money, SDPD Capt. Brian Ahearn said.
Acting independently but known to each other, the suspects used their website, San Diego Adult Service Provider, to post, advertise and profit from paid sex acts, Ahearn said. Customers used the online sex marketplace to contact women, negotiate transactions and post reviews, the captain said.
Koalani owns an escort service and is the author of “Story of An American Escort,” a novel based on his experiences in the illicit sex trade, according to Ahearn.
