San Diego police officers investigated on Sunday what led to a 6-year-old girl accidentally shooting herself in the leg.
The San Diego Watch Commander would not confirm a report on the 10News website that the unidentified girl found the gun under a bed at her home.
The incident took place on the 3800 block of Caminito Aguilar and was reported at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, San Diego police said. The girl’s father drove her to a fire station at 5855 Chateau Drive, police added.
According to the Watch Commander, the girl was most likely transported to Rady Children’s Hospital for medical treatment, but her condition was unavailable.
