A 33-year-old woman who was fatally struck by a pickup truck while attempting to cross the street in front of Bobier Elementary School in Vista was publicly identified Monday.

Nancy Saravia of Vista was hit by a 1997 Ford Ranger truck pulling a trailer while attempting to dash across East Bobier Drive near North Santa Fe Avenue shortly before 8 p.m. Friday, according to the county sheriff’s department and the medical examiner’s office. She died at the scene.

The 54-year-old man behind the wheel of the pickup truck remained at the scene following the crash and was not suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, sheriff’s Deputy Ken Werner said.
