A man who allegedly robbed a La Jolla Village-area bank late Monday morning was arrested nearby a short time later.
The thief handed a demand note to a teller at the Bank of America branch office in the 8800 block of Villa La Jolla Drive shortly before 10:30 a.m., according to San Diego Police. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Officers took the suspect into custody in the area of Nobel Drive and Interstate 5 less than 10 minutes later, SDPD spokesman Humberto Hernandez said. The detainee’s name was not immediately available.
