A motorhome caught fire Wednesday morning on south Interstate 15 in Fallbrook, closing two traffic lanes.
The fire was reported shortly after 11 a.m. near Mission Road. California Highway Patrol said witnesses could see flames from the back of the older-model motor home.
The driver got out of the vehicle and tried to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher before help arrived, CHP reported.
The cause of the fire, which gutted the motorhome, was under investigation, the CHP reported.
