Three men were behind bars Thursday following an investigation into high-end bicycle thefts on the North County coast.
As part of an investigation into bike thefts in the coastal cities, a search warrant was served at the Royal Motel on North Coast Highway 101 in Encinitas. Sheriff’s Detective Luis Pena said high-end bicycles, bike frames and other components were seized, along with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Deputies arrested Jeffrey Scott Stevenson, 60, and 54-year-old Emiko Nishida Sanderson on Tuesday. Both were booked into jail on suspicion of possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia, and Sanderson was also named in a misdemeanor arrest warrant, Pena said.
Both were being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
Also arrested was Billie Dee Estoque, 55, a convicted felon. He was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
People who had their bicycle stolen are encouraged to go to the display of the bicycles and other seized items to try to recover their stolen items. The stolen goods will be on display on July 9 at 9 a.m. at the San Diego County Sheriff’s Crime Lab located at 5255 Mt. Etna Drive in San Diego.
