A person died early Saturday morning after a pickup truck struck a tree in Ramona, trapping the driver.
The accident occurred in the 1200 block of Barnett Road, near Ramona High School, at 12:15 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol online incident log.
The driver was trapped in the vehicle, a Ford F150, for about 40 minutes, according to the log.
The fatal accident remains under investigation.
