An Oceanside man killed Sunday in a Carlsbad car crash has been identified by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Jacob Marine Lesu, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene on Rancho Santa Fe Road, where he swerved the 2007 BMW sedan he was driving southbound with a female passenger into the raised center median.

It caused the car to roll multiple times, then slam into a traffic signal pole at the intersection with Camino Junipero, killing Lesu and sending his passenger to a hospital with major injuries, Carlsbad police said.
