A man was found stabbed to death Thursday in a Chollas Creek-area vacant lot being used as a camp by homeless people.
The discovery in a foliage-choked ravine off the 5000 block of Wightman Street was reported shortly before 9:30 a.m., according to San Diego police.
The unidentified victim, a possible transient who appeared to be 30 to 40 years old, evidently had suffered at least one knife wound to his upper body a short distance from where he collapsed on the creek bed and died, Lt. Paul Rorrison said.
Investigators had identified no suspects in the case by mid-afternoon Thursday.
