A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the driver of a distinctive car who allegedly shot a man in the head following an altercation in Spring Valley last month.

The suspect and four other people were seen arguing with the victim before the shooting in the 8700 block of Ildica Street near Sweetwater Road shortly shortly before 6 p.m. on April 15, according to the San Diego County Sheriff‘s Department and Crime Stoppers. The victim was hospitalized and underwent surgery, but an update on his condition was not immediately available.

The gunman was last seen as he sped away and headed north on Sweetwater Road in a mid- to late-2000s shiny aqua blue two-door Honda Civic with black or missing hubcaps on one side and standard plastic ones on the other, sheriff’s officials said. The car may have a 6-inch dent behind the drivers side door.

The suspect was described as Hispanic, 19 to 25 years old, tall and thin. He had short black hair, a light mustache, a goatee and was possibly unshaven along his jawline.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect or his whereabouts was asked to call sheriff’s investigators at (619) 660-7090, or to contact Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 or via email at sdcrimestoppers.org.
