A 38-year-old man standing in a City Heights street was hit and seriously injured by a car, a police officer said Monday.
The man was standing in the 2400 block of Fairmount Avenue near 44th Street talking to someone sitting in a parked car when he and that vehicle were struck by a Toyota Camry driven by a 68-year-old woman shortly after 5:30 p.m. Sunday, San Diego Police Officer Dino Delimitros said.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital to be treated for a compound leg fracture and a broken shoulder, Delimitros said. The person to whom he was talking suffered minor injuries in the crash.
The Toyota’s driver also struck three other parked cars, Delimitros said. It was not immediately clear what, if any, charges she would face.
