Police were on the lookout Tuesday for the man who stabbed a 43-year-old pedestrian in Chicano Park and ran off.
The victim initially thought he was punched in the side of his chest while walking in the park on National Avenue near Cesar Chavez Parkway around 7 p.m. Monday but later discovered he had been stabbed, San Diego Police Officer Dino Delimitros said.
After returning home, the victim got a ride to a hospital to be treated for the non-life-threatening wound, Delimitros said.
Police described the attacker as white, 6 feet tall, thin and in his 40s with shoulder length dark hair. He was dirty and unshaven and was wearing a dirty T-shirt and jeans.
