Authorities were following up Tuesday on a possible sighting of a 75-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s disease who apparently wandered away from the Pinezanita RV Park and Campground Saturday afternoon.

Sally Estabrook, mother-in-law to Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine, was last seen around 4 p.m. Saturday at the 26.5-acre campground in the 4400 block of state Route 79, north of Harrison Park Road, according to a sheriff’s department statement.

She apparently walked off while her husband was showering, and he called the sheriff’s department to report her missing shortly before 5 p.m.

A sheriff’s department search and rescue team has been combing the area but has so far come up empty-handed. Sheriff’s officials said the search was suspended overnight, but about 50 volunteers, including some from Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties, resumed their search of a 6-mile area outside the campground at 7 a.m.

Searchers were also checking along state Route 79 in the vicinity of mile marker 15 where a man saw a woman possibly matching Estabrook’s description walking on Monday, sheriff’s officials said.

Estabrook is white, about 5 feet 4 inches and 145 pounds, with shoulder- length blond hair, and may be wearing a teal top and white capri pants. Sheriff’s officials said she is not very communicative but may respond to her name.

Anyone who spots Estabrook was urged to call 911 or the sheriff’s department at (858) 565-5200. Sheriff’s officials also asked anyone with surveillance video from the day she went missing to step forward.
