An investigation was underway Monday into a head-on collision that killed a 54-year-old man near Casino Pauma overnight.
The San Jacinto resident, whose name was withheld pending family notification, was heading east on state Route 76 shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday.
His pickup truck was involved in a head-on collision with an oncoming van near Adams Drive in the Pala area, according to the California Highway Patrol and county Medical Examiner’s Office.
He died at the scene.
Two other people involved in the crash were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries of undisclosed severity, according to the CHP.
