Investigators Friday made public surveillance video showing a suspect in two armed robberies at the same Rolando-area Wal-Mart store six months apart.
The most recent heist at 3412 College Ave. was about 10 p.m. on May 6, according to police and Crime Stoppers.
The suspect approached a cashier, pulled a gun and demanded money — but fired into the ceiling before the employee could open the cash register, authorities said. He then grabbed money from the register and fled.
The make and model of the getaway vehicle were unknown, but investigators said it had a white driver’s side door and front quarter panel.
Police said the same suspect was believed to have been responsible for a similar robbery at the Wal-Mart store on Nov. 23, in which shots were also fired toward the ceiling.
The suspect in the latest robbery was described as black, 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 8 to 6 feet tall with a heavy build and had a beard and hair that was pulled back into a bun. He was wearing a black and gray sweater or jacket, a red and black flannel shirt underneath, black pants and white tennis shoes.
