A pickup truck smashed through a front window of a downtown La Mesa art gallery Monday, winding up almost entirely inside the shop, authorities reported.
The non-injury accident occurred in the 8300 block of La Mesa Boulevard shortly before 10 a.m., according to police. The business was closed at the time, Lt. Matt Nicholass said.
It was unclear why the driver, a disabled man, lost control of the Ford Ranger, the lieutenant said.
Reports from the scene indicate that the truck came close to artworks, but did not damage any works.
