The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose 2.5 cents Saturday to $3.61, one day after increasing 1.4 cents.
The average price is 3.3 cents more than one week ago, but 6.9 cents less than one month ago and 1.2 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
Despite the spikes, AAA analysts said nationwide gas prices for Monday’s Labor Day holiday will be the cheapest in three years.
