Ride share market leader Uber introduced a new rewards program Wednesday in San Diego and eight other cities.
Uber Rewards will let customers earn points every time they use Uber or Uber Eats, with the number ranging from 1 point to 3 points per dollar spent. Like an airline rewards program, levels advance from blue to gold, platinum and ultimately diamond.
“Our customers have told us they want to see a return on their everyday spend, and care about price consistency, being on time, and the quality of their experience,” the company said. “So we kept this feedback top of mind as we designed the benefits.”
After testing in San Diego and the eight other cities, the rewards program will roll out to all U.S. Uber customers.
The other locations where Uber Rewards are being tested are Miami, Denver, Tampa, New York, Washington, Philadelphia, Atlanta and parts of New Jersey.
