The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County was unchanged Saturday for the second consecutive day, remaining at $3.758, and could begin to decrease.
The average price is one-tenth of a cent more than one week ago, 10.1 cents higher than one month ago and 72.3 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has risen 63.6 cents since the start of the year.
“The California Energy Commission is reporting the highest level of gasoline stocks in three months and local refineries reportedly have completed their planned maintenance,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California‘s corporate communications manager.
“Both those factors are good indicators that prices could reverse course and head back downward soon,” he added.
