The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose seven-tenths of a cent Tuesday to $3.057, one day after an 18-day streak of increases ended when it dropped one-tenth of a cent.

The average price is 5.1 cents more than one week ago, 30 cents higher than one month ago and 40.3 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The rising prices are the result of unplanned maintenance at several refineries that have reduced supply, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
