THE LOT, a luxury cinema with seven screens and a casual restaurant, cafe and bar, opens Wednesday on Fay Avenue in downtown La Jolla.
Movies scheduled for the opening weekend are “Black Mass,” “Everest,” “Hotel Transylvania 2,” “Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials,” “Sicario,” “The Intern,” and “The Martian.”
The restaurant will feature a wide selection of Mediterranean and Mexican-inspired dishes, while the cafe will serve locally sourced and roasted coffees, plus house-made pastries.
“THE LOT will be a community hub, a place to grab a morning coffee, enjoy a full dinner, or catch the latest Hollywood blockbuster,” said Adolfo Fastlicht, owner and chief executive officer. “It’s a special place with uniquely curated experiences—from the restaurant menu and the locally sourced coffees, wines and beers we’ve hand-selected, to the local art and leading-edge cinematic and sound technology we’ve installed.”
The cafe opens at 6 a.m. daily, and the restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner. Movies begin at approximately 11 a.m. with the final screenings around 11:30 p.m. Tickets and reservations are available at thelotent.com.
Fastlicht’s company Backlot Hospitality is planning to open a similar luxury cinema and restaurant at Liberty Station.
