The rail line along the North County coast is scheduled to be shut down Saturday and Sunday because of construction, but will resume operations Monday morning.
The North County Transit District said there will be no Coaster train service this weekend.
Amtrak will put passengers on buses between San Diego and Irvine, with stops in Oceanside and Solana Beach. Passengers who show NCTD “Rail to Rail” tickets can also ride on the Breeze 101 bus.
The Metrolink will come no farther south than San Juan Capistrano, and no alternative service will be provided.
The shutdown will allow workers to continue with double-track projects in the Sorrento Valley and San Onofre, and conduct soil testing along the line in Carlsbad, Del Mar and Solana Beach.
