San Diego County art glass and mixed media artist James Stone, the owner of Stone & Glass, has been chosen as this year’s 2019 Family & Visitor Attraction Awards in LUXlife Magazine’s autumn issue.
Stone, an artist from Escondido, is best known for his use of color and his process of casting glass hot out of the furnace, directly into the sculpted metal, which is considered unique.
“After more than 30 years as a glassblowing artist, I am honored and humbled to have been selected,” Stone said. “I take great pride in the work that I do – and it feels especially rewarding to be recognized for teaching [through my workshops].”
The magazine describes its award recipients as “attractions which raise our adrenaline, transport us to another time or provide once-in-a-lifetime interactions with nature.”
Stone and Glass is located at 629 W. Grand Ave. in Escondido.
