ABC’s “General Hospital” collected a leading 28 nominations Tuesday for the 42nd annual Daytime Emmy Awards, with CBS’ “Young and the Restless” earning 25.
The two soaps will compete for outstanding daytime drama honors with NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” and CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
“CBS Sunday Morning,” ABC’s “Good Morning America” and NBC’s “Today Show” were all nominated for outstanding morning program.
For informative talk shows, nominations went to “The Chew,” “The Dr. Oz Show,” “The Kitchen” and “Steve Harvey,” while entertainment talk show nods went to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Live! with Kelly and Michael,” “The Talk” and “The Wendy Williams Show.”
The awards will be presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on April 26 at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank. The bulk of the honors will be presented April 24 during the Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards at the Universal Hilton.
The Burbank ceremony will be televised live on the Pop Network. Betty White will be presented with a lifetime achievement award during the event.
The Daytime Emmy Awards recognize television productions that air between 2 a.m. and 6 p.m.
