San Diego Latino Film Festival Opens; Features Works by Stars John Leguizamo and Gael Garcia Bernal

Say bienvenidos to 10 days of the best in Latino films when the San Diego Latino Film Festival opens Thursday for the 21st year.

Cafe Sevilla will host the opening night party, featuring the Afro Jazziacs and DJ Bob Green. Admission is $20 or $25 with one film included. General admission for the festival is $11 per film, with passes available and discounts for seniors and students.

Films to be screened during the opening party include Espancio Interior, about a kidnapped man forced to reflect on his life; Que Le Dijieste A Dios, about two maids on the run, set to the music of superstar Juan Gabriel; Violet, about a Spanish man’s coming of age in Santa Monica and Roa, about a political murder in Colombia in the 1940s.

The films are set to feature stars including John Leguizamo and Gael Garcia Bernal.

Screenings will continue through March 23 in three locations in San Diego, including Mission Valley and North Park.
