Celebrate the art, culture and history of Old Town this weekend during Bazaar del Mundo’s “Fashion + Flavors” event.

The event, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the corner of Juan and Taylor streets, allows shoppers to indulge in handmade creations.

Shoppers can peruse collections of silk scarves, leather handbags and jewelry made from metals, glass, semi-precious stones and sparkling jewels that are contemporary, as well as ethnically inspired.

Casa Guadalajara’s Chef Jose Duran will also present cooking demonstrations of his popular summer salad and dressing recipes. Guests can enjoy tastings along with a light lunch served in the Bazaar del Mundo courtyard at 11:30 a.m. on both days.

Musical entertainment will be provided by TINKU, performing over 19 musical rhythms from throughout Latin America on authentic native instruments.

OysterFest!

If you can appreciate delicious oysters, you won’t want to miss this event at Seaport Village. The seventh annual San Diego OysterFest takes place from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. Attendees can expect to try a variety of oysters from San Diego restaurants, along with craft beers, wines, champagnes and cocktails. The festival also features live music from bands such as Thievery Corporation, Rebelution, Boombox, AOK and Unite. Tickets start at $34. The event is open to adults age 21 and up.

Nature App Unveil

Be the first to experience a cool, new nature app. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in partnership with the Living Coast Discovery Center is launching two interactive game apps, both in English and Spanish, that will teach users about the diverse wildlife in the San Diego Bay. Developed by Discover Nature Apps, the apps include GPS-guided nature-based scavenger huntsm the ability for users to post and view real-time sightings and photographs worldwide, and the opportunity to share their experiences on social media. The public launch takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sweetwater Marsh.

International Boat Show

Ahoy! It’s time for the annual San Diego International Boat Show. The premier summer boating event features 140 boats fo sale, nautical gear, gadgets and accessories. Attendees can also check out luxury superyachts, test different water activities and enjoy delicious eats from a variety of food trucks. A Kids Zone will also be available for the young sailors. The event takes place Thursday through Sunday at the Sheraton Hotel & Marina at Harbor Island. Tickets start at $15.

Car Show

Take dad to the third annual Father’s Day Car Show at Belmont Park this weekend. The free event features numerous cars, rides, attractions and live music. Attendees can also try a burger and craft beer for just $20. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the north parking lot of Belmont Park.
