A hit-and-run crash on a Chollas View-area street early Thursday left a motorist with a broken leg and sent his truck crashing off the roadway and into a home.
The 38-year-old man was heading south in the 1000 block of South 47th Street when a Chevrolet Tahoe pulled directly into the path of his Nissan pickup from C Street shortly after 4:30 a.m., according to San Diego police.
The driver of the truck swerved but was unable to avoid a collision with the SUV, after which the Nissan veered off the street and crashed into a house, said Officer Tony Martinez.
The driver of the Tahoe, who appeared to be in his 20s, got out of his damaged vehicle and ran off.
Medics took the other motorist to a hospital for treatment of a fractured right thighbone, Martinez said.
