The San Diego Sheriff’s Department is seeking witnesses to a motorcycle crash late Saturday in San Marcos that left a 19-year-old man severely injured.

The crash occurred just before midnight on Borden Road near Fulton Road. When deputies and San Marcos Fire Department personnel arrived they found the motorcycle rider unresponsive and lying on a sidewalk.

The driver had been traveling west on Borden Road “and for an unknown reason, lost control of the motorcycle,” Deputy Jameson Perham said in a statement. His bike hit several objects, but alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the collision, he said.

The man was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for the treatment of serious injuries.

The victim’s name was not released and the investigation is continuing. Anyone who witnessed the accident can contact San Diego Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
