While a 66-year-old woman was standing outside a CVS Saturday evening, she was grabbed by a man who choked and cut her neck in Hillcrest, San Diego police said.
It happened at about 11:47 p.m. on the 300 block of Washington Street, said SDPD officer Robert Heims. The suspect put his arm around her neck in a choke hold.
Then he used an unknown weapon to cut her neck and fled down Washington Street, said Heims. When police arrived at the scene, the woman was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that did not appear to be fatal.
Police described the suspect as a light-skinned Hispanic man with curly hair and dark clothing.
An investigation is underway from the San Diego Police Western Division Detectives.
