A man accused of buying beer at stores such as Walmart and Target and tampering with the alcohol before returning it to the retail outlets pleaded not guilty Thursday to 32 charges, including mixing poison with food or drink.

Eduardo Cossio, 31, is accused in 10 incidents from December 2014 to October 2015, said Deputy District Attorney Elizabeth McClutchey.

The prosecutor said she could not comment on exactly what Cossio is accused of doing and why.

Cossio — who is free on $10,000 bail — will be back in court July 14 for a readiness conference and July 28 for a preliminary hearing.
