A young man was found fatally stabbed Thursday afternoon on a street near Buccaneer Beach.
Officers responding to a report of a possible hit-and-run traffic accident in the 100 block of Wisconsin Avenue found the unidentified victim, believed to be about 20 years old, lying on the roadway at 3:45 p.m.
“Closer examination revealed the victim had been stabbed and was unconscious,” Oceanside police Lt. Leonard Cosby said.
He died at the scene, despite medics’ attempts to resuscitate him.
A witness told investigators the attacker might have been a man seen riding out of the area to the north on a black “beach cruiser” bicycle, the lieutenant said.
