A man died Sunday night when the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a parked vehicle and he was ejected onto a roadway in Vista.

The crash happened at 7:10 p.m. in the 500 block of North Emerald Drive, according to Deputy Michael Guerrero of the San Diego County Sheriff‘s Vista Station.

“Deputies arrived within minutes and found the 26-year-old male driver of the motorcycle in the roadway,” Guerrero said. They attempted life-saving measures, but declared him dead at the scene.

“The initial investigation revealed the motorcycle had been traveling northbound on North Emerald Drive,” he said. “For an undetermined reason, the motorcycle drifted to the right and collided with the left rear of a vehicle which was legally parked along the east side of the roadway. The impact caused the driver to be ejected onto the roadway.”

Alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash, he said.
