A California State University San Marcos student was allegedly raped during a party at her residence hall last month, and the suspect remained at large Saturday.
University police were looking into a report that the student was sexually assaulted by an invited guest she met at the party at the QUAD residence hall at 200 Barham Drive. The attack was sometime between the night of Sept. 12 and the morning of Sept. 14, according to a campus police alert statement.
Police said the rape was reported Friday.
Police described the suspect as black, about 18 years old, 5 feet 8 and 170 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes. He is not a CSUSM student and is believed to live somewhere in Orange County, police said.
University police asked anyone with information that may be helpful to their investigation to call them at (760) 750-4567, the university’s hotline at (760) 750-7233 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
