ArtFest at the San Diego Botanic Gardens is happening this weekend and will bring together some of the finest regional artists.
The fine art show, which takes place Saturday and Sunday, features more than 20 artists displaying and selling their work at amazing prices just for Garden guests. Many of these fantastic sculptors, painters, glass artists, potters, gourd and fiber artists who participate in ArtFest will also provide interesting demonstrations of their craft.
As an added bonus, 20 sculptors who are currently showing their work throughout the Garden as a part of the 2016-2017 “Sculpture in the Garden” exhibit, are offering a discount for buyers interested in purchasing their work during ArtFest.
ArtFest is free with paid admission or membership.

The New Children’s Museum is inviting all 21 and up San Diegans to the museum to tap into their inner child. This Friday, the museum will host a throwback event featuring all the greatest hits from the 80s and 90s. Guests can also expect cocktails, craft beer, grilled cheese and throwback-themed art show. Of course, you’ll also get to enoy the museum. The event, which takes place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., is $15 pre-sale or $25 at the door.
South Bay Earth Day
Celebrate Mother Nature at the South Bay Earth Day event this Saturday. The event, which will take place from 11 a.m.to 4 p.m. at Bayside Park. Visitors can learn to compost, take a yoga class, or test drive an electric vehicle. There will also be a beer garden featuring local breweries, organic food trucks and more.
Healthy Living Festival
San Diego’s largest health and fitness expo, the Healthy Living Festival, returns to the Del Mar Fairgrounds this weekend. Attendees can expect cooking demonstrations, free yoga and qigong, health and wellness products, free medical screenings and more. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Admission is $10 at the door or you can click here for free passes.
Beer and Music Festival
This weekend brings another beer festival to San Diego, but this time it’s paired with music. The San Diego Beer and Music Festival will offer more than 100 craft beers and live music from bands such as Faux Fighters (a tribute band to Foo Fighters) and Bass Punks. Admission prices range from $35 to $60.
Puesto’s 5th Birthday
Mexican eatery, Puesto, is turning five. To celebrate the occasion, the restaurant is inviting the public to its birthday party. Taco lovers are invited to The Headquarters on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for complimentary tacos and aquas fresca. The event will include face painters, balloon artists and jumpy houses for entertainment.
Donuts and Beers
Want to figure out which beers go best with donuts? Thorn Street Brewery and Nomad Donuts are hosting a pairing this Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. The funky donut shop will serve all its delicious pastries alongside different craft beers. The event is $18 for three beer and donut tastings.
Springfest at Birch Aquarium
Birch Aquarium and UC San Diego’s Department of Music is coming together to give visitors a unique experience. Springfest: IMMERSION will allow attendees to enioy live music while venturing through the stunning exhibits. The event, which will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, features live music from Voices of Our City Choir, Barbara Byers and Jordon Morton, among others. Admission prices range from $9 to $12.
Classics 4 Kids Concert
Classics 4 Kids, a nonprofit, will host a benefit concert on Sunday. The event features Time for Three, a band that mixes genresof music from 90s hip-hop to grunge and bluegrass. The event will take place at the Balboa Theatre at 3 p.m. with a reception prior to the show. Ticket prices range from $18 to $100.
